Imperfect Foods

Imperfect Foods delivers the fresh produce to your door. So what do they call them ugly?? All the grocery stores have the standards of how their produce should look like - shape, color, no scarring, you know the drill, so that the customer's eye can be pleased by this shiny apple and perfectly straight cucumber. All the other, not-so-perfectly looking fruits and veggies are pushed aside (read "disregarded"). But the local farmers worked really hard on taking care of them and harvesting. So then Imperfect Foods comes in place - they take care of these "ugly" guys and deliver them to your door step for about 30% cheaper than their "perfect" friends at the store. This way you not only help the business, but also save a penny or two.
Since my first box the company grew, and they changed the name from Imperfect Produce to Imperfect Foods as now they have dairy and protein options to add to your produce and grains.
It is so easy to sign up and navigate, you just pick the box size - small, medium, or large based on how many people you have in your household and how much fruits and veggies you use on a daily basis. As it is just 2 of us, I went with the small one. You can decide if you want it weekly or bi-weekly, and when you go out of town you can skip the delivery. About 3-4 days before your delivery is scheduled, you have a customization window when you can pick everything you want to go into your box, or you can let the Imperfect Foods team build it for you and surprise with their selection.
What I like about it is that you pick your foods on Thursday and forget about it, and then on Monday there is a knock on the door and see your pretty ugly foods on your door step. Here is my happy face when I got my first Imperfect Foods delivery. Click here to get your $10 off your first box!
